Default AA Repair Insurance

Anyone else spotted this? For £67 a year, no need to worry about diesel fuel pumps or clutch release bearing failure. Wish I'd spotted it before my alternator threw it's hat in...

Yep I had it since last April as insurance for clutch component failure, but mines holding out at 94K on original parts.

Intend to renew this year.

i have this too. got them to do the cooling fan on mine and just in the process of getting my abs looked at. it is a bargain but you have to use it wisely, ie in tandem with your callouts.

Seems like a good deal at face value. My concern is that £500 maximum per incident wouldn't cover the cost of much.

My own breakdown insurance is for £1k per incident and, providing I'm able to recover the car to my local garage, would cover any work completely, except the auto transmission or a complete engine. Even then, £1k would cover 90%.

Just a thought.

Paul, who's your breakdown insurance with to give £1000 per incident, and how much does it cost a year?

Sounds interesting on the face of it.
Two points in the Terms & Conditions:
Car must be serviced by a registered Garage to Manufactures schedule;this would rule many of us out.
also an Exclusion:- "Cost of repairs needed because of design or fault in manufacture." Maybe worth establishing what falls into this category,if any, before proceeding.

Warrantyworks.

If I recall correctly, it was £270 for 2 years cover.

The list of parts covered is impressive and their service requirements are "VAT registered garage"
