Locked out of 75
Hi all,
firstly I've used these forums a lot to look up fixes etc. and have found it very useful, so thank you all for your knowledge. Now onto my problem: I locked my car using the buttons on my key but then it won't let me unlock it, no problem I thought, I'll just stick the key in the door. The key turns each way and springs back but nothing happens, since owning the car I've not had to use the physical key hole and it seems to not be working. Then I tried the boot lock and the key just turns and turns with no resistance. I've tried resyncing the key by pressing lock then unlock four times with no luck and tried all sorts of combinations (press unlock 10 times, press lock 10 times etc) and the car just won't respond. The light on the key comes on but nothing happens. I researched possible ways of getting into a locked car and came across the door wedge method on youtube (wedge open the door a bit then use a metal rod to push the unlock button. I have a few questions: 1) Is there anything else to try first before attempting to steal my own car? 2) Will the interior unlock button even work since the car was locked with the fob? 3) When the alarm goes off will inserting my key and turning on the ignition disable the alarm? 4) If I'm unable to unlock using the method above, what's the best way to smash a window quickly and safely? (centre punch and hammer?) 5) Again, if I smash my way in, will I be able to disable the alarm by inserting my key and turning on the ignition? I can PM a scan of my licence and V5 to a mod to prove ownership, and will notify neighbors and the local police before attempting to break in. The car is a 2002 Connoisseur SE CDT VIN:SARRJZLHC2D243350 Edit: Some extra info On Tuesday morning the battery ran out on my fob so I replaced it and the car locked and unlocked fine all day until it stopped working in the evening, immediately after driving. It's been quite cold here in Bath, -2C to -4C at night but it's warmer today 4C-6C and it's still not working Last edited by BathRover; 21st January 2016 at 08:59.. |

Hold off for the moment, you are unlikely to obtain entry if doors locked with key, the deadlocks are on, somebody will respond shortly.

Anybody have any ideas?
I need the car sorted soon so am going to give it a go this afternoon, could somebody try sitting in their car, locking it with the fob and then unlocking it with the central locking button to see if it's even possible, that would be a great help |

That's great news, thanks for that!
So if i can bend the door open enough to get a metal rod inside I should be able to unlock the door (setting off the alarm in the process), does putting the key in and switching on the ignition disable the alarm? |

Super locking immobilises the interior door handles thereby preventing an intruder from gaining entry by smashing a window and reaching inside the car to operate the door handles

what about john 2443s test? that seemed to work, I'm tempted to give it a go, then just smash the window if no luck. If I do smash the window will I be able to disarm the alarm by putting the key in the ignition or will I have to disconnect the battery?
