Total closure key fob range?
I've recently done the total closure so I could get the self opening boot.
How would I go about reducing the range of the transmitter? At the moment it will open the boot from the other end of the street a good 40-50 yards. I'd like it to operate from about 20 feet in if possible. Not sure how or if this can be done. Any help appreciated. Andy

Two ways - limit the range of the tranmitter (keyfob) or reduce the sensitivity of the receiver. You can reduce the range of the transmitter by fitting some insulated foil to partially cover the inside of the PCB - a bit of cooking foil covered with insulating tape. You can reduce the range of the receiver by partially cover it with cooking foil. I understand the receivers were either located by the handbrake, or in some cases at the front of the centre console. Both methods will need some experimentation to reduce the range to what you want.

I think that is the modification (extra PCB) which closes and / or opens all of the windows.

Hi,
I followed the instructions here Bought a cheap transmitter and receiver from eBay and it took about half an hour to do. I only connected the boot up though didn't want the other bit. It works a treat maybe a bit too well hence the thread.

It unlocks the boot too on mark 1's which don't have this function as standard. Then my Auto Boot Lift Mod can be fitted so you can open the boot fully with the press of your key fob button.

I 'investigated' this. Alas, the 'technical' requirements are way beyond my capabilities. Total opening\closure is a fabulous facility and would be in keeping with the 'luxury' afforded of 75's and ZT's. I need this!
