Mot not sorted!
With the 75 MOT today, yesterday I removed and cleaned the air intake manifold for the final time, because earlier this year I fitted Arctic's EGR blank. A bit of a mess but nowhwere near as bad as when I first did 4 years ago.
I then cleaned all the airbag sensors under the seats to remove the warning light, that recently came on again. This morning i took the car into the garage for the test only to find I was actually booked in for the 9th of September 2022 despite only phoning to book a fortnight ago! A new computer system the owner hadn't quite got grips with, which was soon rectified by his receptionist... It's now due to go in on the 27th October. I've just collected some brake pads to go with some new discs I bought from Oxfordblue75 in October 2020. Later today I'll change the front discs which are now probably due a change, after an advisory warning 24 months ago but not 12... Last edited by Andy_with_a_screwdriver; 12th October 2022 at 10:10.. Due to yesterday afternoon's rain, I changed the front discs and pads today.
I also drilled a new hole or two to re-fix the o/s front mudflap back in position, it has been hanging low for a while and scraping every speed bump around. Whilst it was off the ground I added some stainless locking washers to the undertray bolts, hopefully they'll stay tight now... |

Yesterday Mrs Andy took the 75 on a shopping trip to Exeter £££
A smooth drive I was told, brakes seemed sharper, and she took a photo of this noteable mileage. |

Our unusually good weather has seen more car events into the autumn.
Last weekend I took the ZT-T to a Cars and Coffee in Langley, British Columbia. There was a good turnout with about 300 cars, mostly American muscle cars, but there were some interesting European cars including a Nice Lancia Delta Integrale and a Lambo Countach. I was lucky to find parking next to a lovely Morris Oxford and an MGB.

Big thanks to Reebs who recently supplied me with the production information on my ZT-T190 which will hopefully allow me to register the car as a "Collector" car here in British Columbia. The paperwork has been submitted along with 35 photos to prove the condition of the car, and now I wait to see if it is approved.
One interesting point that came from this exercise is that the ZT-T, which was sold to me as Midnight Blue is actually Anthricite. The car is registered as blue but this shouldn't be an issue as there is quite a bit of blue in the Anthricite undertones. Thanks again Reebs!

Just a new brake pedal rubber (the metal was showing through and it's MOT time next month) and a new driver's side floor mat for me today.
Ideally I need a new tyre for the (relatively) newly acquired full-sized spare wheel as it's below the legal tread limit but I'll probably get a part-worn tyre for that. In nine years I've only fitted the space saver wheel and tyre once, to drive around 600 yards, so I'm not inclined to spend £100 on a tyre that will probably never get used. Not anticipating any major problems for the MOT, having spent over £2,000 earlier this year virtually all of the steering, suspension and braking systems are brand-new. |
