It's already been done but not for the 75 but i don't see any reason why it couldn't be adapted.

I was pondering similar. I think you could bin off the IPK screen and plug in a small Arduino device with a modern screen and interface to the CAN bus.

As I understand it, doing things like using the computer indicator button sends CAN messages, as does the audio system. And you would have diagnostics available too, so all the richness from stuff like TOAF. And whilst you are there, support an SD card or Bluetooth for audio, and feed it into the CD changer input.

Could be quite fun. I think various BMW E46 users have knocked up hardware, but the software is where I think all the time will go.

You missed a bus off your list.... the IBus. Research BMW IBus and Navcoder. Also See http://www.reslers.de/IBUS/index.html

I have one of the resler IBus interfaces lying idle now. I'd sell for half the price of a new one (£15 + postag) if you'd like to give it a go. A great way to learn about programing serial interface communications.

I saw that on Car SOS when it was first emitted on the air. I wonder if it went into commercial sale, and who and where that guy is?

According to the video he is from Bridgend and after a little research on the Esprit forums it appears they were going to be sold via SJ Sportscars if there was enough interest but i can't see any reference on their website so i guess there wasn't

They may be able to say who the chap was and even have contact details or have him contact "you"

worth contacting them.

Well you got me interested to find him, and he has website where you can suggest what next car to include into next project. I do not see why it would not be Rover 75 with rear view camera?

Seems that display is created using package Qt programmed in C++, where images are usualy done in Adobe Photoshop. Futher Qt application must be run on some form of hardware operating system (probably some variant of Linux).

Website is https://garw.co/
