I have ordered a set of ford pins and cups.. will have to keep an eye on it and replace the whole plate later or weld a washer on the back to reinforce it then give a sand blast and fresh coat of paint.. After seeing how badly pitted rear disk are have ordered a set of them to.. so busy week next week before having to head off to Cornwall for a funeral..

there is a post about it somewhere on the forum. I will post the links for the ones I fitted wwhen I get home. 6 pounds to do both sides and a spare set left over
These are the pins I ordered. I ordered 2 sizes of pins, to be sure. I cannot remember which ones I used though. I ordered the extra length ones, to compensate for any distortion in the back plate, or if I had to add a washer onto the head of the pin.

PIN 1

HOLD DOWN CUP

PIN 2

Feed the pin from the back of the plate, it is fiddly, but still less fiddly than removing the back plate. My back plate was otherwise fine, and solid. That's why I didnt replace it.

found this in the "spare" headlamp i was about to polish & fit, as i'm a nice guy i wrapped the lens in a black boiler suit, left the open end pointing towards the workshop lights, by the time i had taken one rear bumper off the spares 75 & helped marinabrian remove & fit another one, it had done a flit

fitted a new set of inlet gaskets to my vvc manifold , I think mickey mouse had fitted it originally as there was no gasket on the upper section of the inlet... this caused a vacuum leak and lumpy idle , all sorted now and with some nice fresh coolant to top it off

Default Did the Insurance claim - Rover is tough

Put in the insurance claim against the incompetent driver of a mondeo estate who managed to scrape my rear wheel arch. Estimated repair cost 600 quid!!!
Bet he will come of worse because his car was gouged along the complete side. Rover is tough.
