I've seen a fair few 75s up for sale from this guy. The write ups are all worded in a very similar manner with just the specific details of the car edited where necessary. His favourite phrase is "immaculate condition commensurate with age", which in my book means "covered in chips and dings but what do you expect for a 15-20 year old car?" Sorry - that's the cynic in me coming to the surface.

He was selling a duotone saloon in BRG over Arbour Green a while back which was a beautiful looking car in the pictures but the asking price brought tears to my eyes.

I can't see any evidence of the ad being closed. I've just done a search and it came up, plus the amendment link doesn't say anything about closure.

It does make you wonder what happens to these over priced cars. Are there always mugs to buy them or do the sellers eventually bow to the inevitable and sell at a sensible price?

I know the classic way out for non sellers is for them to be shifted through the trade at a much lower price and the next dealer is happy to sell at a sensible margin. It's almost like the original dealer doesn't like to admit their greed by selling at a lower price to a private purchaser but it's acceptable to put it back through the trade. Antique dealers seem to have the same attitude.

Sorry for the confusion. I was being a bit of a grammar snob and suggesting I would close the advert as soon as I read the person writing "even more rarer"!

The ad is full of errors. Capital letters at the beginning of words that aren't proper nouns and the incorrect use of apostrophes to name just a couple.

I'm a grammar/spelling snob too, so I 'got' your original post!

As soon as I was the discrepancies in the MOT mileages it was "NO" from me. If they haven't got those right, what else have the not got right

Check out his other auctions. 16 year old PT Cruiser for £9,000 anybody? I know these cars have a bit of a cult following but come on.

On the same cruiser auction - "The original owner drove like a nun and didn’t like motorways. The condition of this vehicle is really accredited to the original owner a former Female Police Officer."

What year is this guy living in? Old bill that didn't like motorways?

And then the cherry on the cake for his 20 year old Micra "One original owner who was a Spinster, had mechanically looked after the car..."

I don't go in for all the PC babble either but "Spinster" on a Micra auction? Hardly appealing to the target market!

he does admit it is not pristine, but I cannot decide if the RH wing and a door has been replaced, or three out of the four doors!
