Has anyone seen the pens you can get for colouring in the tyre tread? I saw a post on a facebook group a year or 2 back, it was heat reactive and they'd spent hours carefully painting the tread on their tyres, so that it had red stripes all round the tyre. I think it lasted a couple of hundred miles before it had all come off, and then he spent a few more hours doing it again!

Don't paint the tyres before it goes for MOT. The tester that did one of my bikes got most upset when he got tyre paint all over the paperwork. He also said that it could have got onto the fabric on the seats of the next car (must have been pre-Covid!). Oops!

For anyone who's curious, a couple of years back I thought I'd try some tyre paint on an actual tyre (rather than just the arch liners) just for the heck of it. I just did the inside of the tyre and was pleasantly surprised.
I still prefer the more modern tyre dressings, but the paint was better than I remember it from back in the '70's: Cliff
