Afraid so, done prior to me getting it. Before the mot I knew they were ropey but had hoped to get advisories to get me by till dmgrs had their arms delivered unfortunately as you can see, quite reasonably it failed so put it off the road till the arms were delivered. For the pic with the welded arm, I gave it a few more hits with the hammer to see how many more holes I could make but regardless they were both rattling with lumps of rust.

Welding of any suspension component shouldn't be allowed, if it's rusty enough to require welding it is structurally compromised, slapping a plate over it doesn't improve it, just hides the evidence - may as well be newspaper and filler, not acceptable in my opinion.

Hi Gary.
They certainly needed changing, do you have any other photos of the new arms from DMGRS to post up so we can take a nice look at them, or perhaps they will post up a few them selves. cheers Arctic.

Yep, pretty crusty eh, sounded great when I shook them too lol!
Unfortunately I didn’t take any details pictures Steve, the only ones I have are below now. The only ‘mod’ I had to do was trim the bracket for the headlamp leveller, I think due to the beefier eyelets!?! But that was no hassle

New dust covers and bump stops on front struts
What a pain when pinch bolt won’t come out

Took Mo for her first decent run since last March. Went to Manchester to pick up 4 unused Y spoke rims. Just one slight scratchy bit to sort out and they'll be pristine.
I wanted a long run to make sure Trikeys advice about cleaning the crank position sensor really had sorted out her lurching.
Happy to report she behaved herself all the way there and back.
Snake pass is great on a sunny day too

Thanks again Andy

Weirdly I did the same with my crank sensor today too, I thought i would reseat it seeing as i was changing the starter motor (The original had got a tad lazy, at 254k it needed a little refresh)

Fitted a new NSF disc shield because the old one rusted through and fell off.

Cleaned out all four sunroof tubes on the Dorchester, modified the fronts so they won’t need doing again and sealed the rear ones with a smear of silicone.

Let’s see what this weeks rain brings!!
