VIN numbers

Hi all
I've been shopping around for brake hoses and Rimmers are quoting 2 VIN numbers - Up to VIN XM111303 & from VIN XM111304
neither of these bear any resemblence to my VIN which reads SARRJZTHK********
Any ideas?

I would have at an educated guess that you just need to read the last six numbers and ignore the XM , I believe the hoses part numbers changed during 2003 . so any car pre 2003 should have vin number lower than 111303 .
Interestingly DMGRS lists the hose numbers together as one generic hose, which I wouldn't have thought would be a problem

Sorry can't be any more help but will say if not happy or unsure you could ring Rimmers as have always found their customer service to be very good
