Great day today, was off from work and dedicated part of it to my second 75. In line stat and cruise control fitted (I was one of the lucky chums to have the loom in place so was just a plug and play plug).
I could not get my hands on a Dremmel tool so I had to improvise worth of 2 euro, a table foot adjusting end, sort of conical to acomodate a thin angle grinder disc, some washers and a 6 mm nut, presto a cutter for the ordinary drill machine, keep it steady and do not use pressure so it does not vibrate, attack at around 30 to 40 degrees angle, and in less than 30 seconds of grinding the hose clip was off; cheap skate me did it again. And as for the satisfaction of a working cruise control, you know . I wish to thank all who shared info about above and other topics, you guys are something!

Then buy 1 hacksaw blade. It will only take a minute to saw through the metal strap.

Today, I just drove my 75 to the local tyre specialist with a fellow members union wheel and punctured tyre for repair. The drive there and back was lovely, as was the comments from the staff who remember my 75 when they fitted new rubber at each corner. The car has been nicely sorted out with mods and improvements without the car sacrificing it's great looks and design.
Loved it ! |

Drivers Cupholder
Just to get some symmetry I have installed a drivers side Cupholder, whilst it is not of great use when driving it is beneficial when stationary.

Had new rear pads and discs fitted - thanks to DRMGS for those - at my local garage. I work for a Renault Truck dealer near them - so all it cost me was £40 in their 'tip box' so very pleased with that.
MOT tomorrow, first one with this car! Les

I went to the scrappy's today to get a new d/s wing mirror as someone hit it a few weeks back.
I got that, plus a few other bits and bobs. However, I got something special......I am now the proud owner of a genuine chrome grill. Obviously it would show up better on a green/blue/red car but I couldn't resist. Rob

Drove to work in my ace CDT Connie with a fully-working clutch at last, courtesy of the extremely helpful and insanely cheap service provided by Mat at DMGRS. That's the big expense gone for the moment I hope...
