The Shooting Brake wouldn't start yesterday. The AA chap diagnosed the Crankshaft Sensor so off it went to my local garage. The garage mechanic thought the same however it still wont start after a new Crankshaft Sensor was fitted. I love MGR.

I've had a similar noise when the water pump started to fail Mark.

Was convinced it was the crank pulley as it was still the original and the car had done 365k miles at the time, not only that but the water pump had only been replaced 65k miles before.

This was how it sounded:

Something to look at Mike the next time I have it on a lift. Hoping to switch cars tonight and run it for a few days.

I hope it starts, the ZT needed another clat of the UBP this morning, I'm going to use it today to run off the remaining fuel, then delve into the tank to convert to single pump over the next day or two

Mmm single pump conversion

Hi Brian I will be watching this mod to a single pump
I've thought about it many times but didn't know we're to start
So I'm looking forward to see how it goes & and what's involved

Thanks Alan.

What I did today was shut the tailgate and was unable to open, read through the search function about a wire to pull and success. Full repair tomorrow. Cheers Tech. Guru's.
