So were these unbranded bulbs, no they were Wotan (Osram) which are E marked and type approved.

These were fitted as a pair nine months ago almost to the day when I had the headlights removed to refurbish the lenses.

I've never had two headlight bulbs fail simultaneously on any car I've ever owned or driven ever.

Spooky or what

Had the exact same thing happen to an Impreza, only happened once, never again

Not enough. Rained all morning.

When the weather relented I started up the air compressor I borrowed, to run the impact wrench.

I got my tools ready, took the wheel off again and got ready to undo the crankshaft pulley bolt.

I connected up the air line and heard a hissing of escaping air. I turned the ball valve isolator and felt a blast of air as the handle shot past me!
100psi quickly became 0 as the tank emptied.

Unable to use the air gun I then spent the next two hours chasing round town to find one of these:

I finally bought one, just got to put it back together for another attempt tomorrow.

Looks a bit like good old Bondaprimer to me- am I correct ? What do you top coat with ? I have my MGB front suspension parts to paint up in the next week or two, so I am just deciding what to use. Cheers Pete

Did that job last week........today's jobs, collected from the sorting office then fitted new security chip to Maudlawes DDE4, and pair with his EWS, then pop it in the post, along with a virgin 1800T ECM to some dodgy geezer in Norfolk, and a V6 ECM posted to the far shores of Australia.

I'm contemplating which size skip to order now

Some of the following hopefully;
Replace all the parts I took off the engine to get the starter motor out, in the attempt to change the crankshaft pulley. Sadly the thing is so tight it won't budge, so someone else will have to do it.

Get the thing running again and try to contact my garage.

Also on the to do list (not necessarily in order of priority):
Fit inline stat and change coolant.
Replace drivers door lock actuator, it's stopped locking now as well !
Change front ARB drop links and mounting bushes.
Get new front brake pad sensor which I broke taking off
Fit mud flaps.
Clean and treat front wheel arches with rustproofing.
Wash and wax car.
A N Other thing.....

However I've just been informed my sister-in-law is visiting with our nephew this afternoon...

… and Mrs Andy wants the house tidied and shift all my car parts put out the way of a toddler!

Fitted a set of spark plugs to my zt. Very easy job.
Tomorrow an oil and filter change.
