Default National tyres, oil change for v6= £36

Not sure if the link will work but I put the reg of my 190 in for an oil and filter change quote on national website and it gave me a price of £40.57 for mid range or £55.58 for premium. On their website they have a 10% off coupon too.

The mid range price would be £36 for oil, filter and labour?

http://www.national.co.uk/oil-vehicle-search.aspx

Anyone ever used them before?

Is this too good to be true?

Get your oil and filter from ECP for around £25 and do it yourself?

I'm not being a smart ****. I wasn't sure about doing it myself but it's ****** easy so I'd highly recommend it...

Im use this oil: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/ca...6011&0&cc5_245

No that sounds about right. I Think it's good as I'd rather pay that instead of doing it myself for about the same cost

Oil change aside I popped into a National Tyre depot (Brownhills) last week as I had a slow puncture, they took the wheel off and tested the tyre before finding it was a very slow leak from the base of the valve, replaced it and sent me on my way - no charge and with a smile to boot, excellent service I thought.

£11 extra for the labour isn't bad though is it!!

Especially this time of year if you don't fancy crawling about under a car in the rain and having the hassle of disposing of the old oil.

The price from National Tyres is the basic price - if there is an undertray to remove this will be charged extra (don't know how much though).

The plan was to man up and do it myself as I promised I would learn how to be hands on with this car but I just checked out of curiosity really and was shocked how cheap it was and it made me think it might be the way to go just now.

That is interesting about the under tray.If I can get away early from work next week I will pop in to my local place and find out how much extra they charge.

I have been impressed with our local place with previous cars.

Sometimes these places have a bad reputation but the guys at mine have always been really helpful too.

It is a good price - but I would like to see the brands of Filters and the brand of Oil they are using first...

I like to know what's goes in my engine I'm afraid.

Doesn't really matter what oil is used in an engine if the car lives under a cover and doesn't get used though

I have to say though I do enjoy the satisfaction of rolling around under a car in the rain/wind etc draining old oil out
