Question Anyone know this MG-ZT?

Hi.

I would like any info on this MG-ZT Tourer, (see pic) please. (Possible Coolant issue)??? As I am considering buying it.

Any help would be much appreciated - you can PM me if preferable.

Thanks.

Don't know the actual car but I see from the 190 badge that it is a v6 engine . Is it losing coolant or is it overheating , or both ? The common coolant problem on these is a leak from the thermostat assembly in the V of the engine . Remove the top cover over the engine , two little bolts , and look down into the V between the two banks for any sign of wetness or antifreeze staining (probably pink ) . If this is it it's not a bad job if you are handy
Alternatively , remove the oil filler cap and look for mayonnaise on the cap ; this could suggest oil and water mixing and might be a failed oil cooler . It could however also be a sign of driving only when cold / short runs
You can get the MOT history here https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/

Hi Bill.

I saw this as well prior to them noting K-Seal in the cooling system and at £1999.

I bought my Firefrost ZT-T 190 which had K-Seal added. It's dreadful stuff. Looked like someone had poured seawater, sand and all in.

It's a nightmare to flush out, and even then it may well have clogged the water ways in the block and the heater matrix.

The reason it had been added to mine is a faulty oil cooler. Unfortunately the temperature is still not behaving as it should.

Thanks, that is exactly what I wanted to hear..... And what I was afraid of. A shame, such a lovely example otherwise!

I was also wondering about this one a ZT180......

Thanks in advance.

Dishwasher tablet in the system works wonders and clears blockages in the heater matrix on most occasions
