Try contacting cb750chris in Portsmouth, he has a T4 or download Toaf (use the search for more info) and diagnose the problem yourself.

Sorry no, not exactly local to me. But in the Tech help forum, two listings down is a list of traders with a T4, click on his name to send him either a mail or PM.

With a bit of luck he might even see this thread himself ...

Sounds like a failing injector. Try an injector leak back test.

Thanks for the recommendation Vitesse
Have sent a PM with contact details.
Agree with Mike's suggestion as a good starting point.

It sounds like the glow plug relay is no its way out. Friend had the same problem with theirs. Checked the relay and it was burnt out inside but looked fine from the outside. It was changed with a 2nd hand one from a scrappy and it starts 1st turn of the key now.

If it starts on easy start its definitely fuel pressure related, you need to get it on live data. When cranking let us know what the high pressure is reading. It could be as simple as a failing o ring on the high pressure regulator.

Glow plugs aren't needed to start the M47R in this country, the fuel is injected at over 4000psi when starting, compressing the fuel and injecting gets it warm enough.

if it is the pressure regulator then you can get a new one under BWM for almost half the price for the same product listed as 75/ZT.
