Morning all, congrats on the new arrival Rod.

I slept like a log last night, something to do with a 20hr day, four pints of Guinness, one curry, one sausage roll and a packet of Jaffa cakes before bed.

I've changed my mind about saying it was a tad milder first thing this morning, that strong easterly wind is absolutely perishing.
I'll drive some BR trains in the warmth I think

Three of us! I never sleep well, takes me a long time to get to sleep in the first place (sometimes hours of tossing and turning) then no matter how long I sleep I still wake up tired.

The real things were by no means warm, any effects of the cab heaters were nullified by the drafts. Thermal long johns were essential in the winter with the winter overcoat wrapped around the legs to try to protect you from the drafts under the driving desk!

Thaw under way here but its slow and still bleedin' cold. Had the girls out in the snow, they love it, run around like idiots!

Afternoon all, It's been dark, Dismal & raining all day, I've still got the house lights on since I got up first thing this morning, I'm surprised the rain hasn't turned to ice on hitting the ground as my lawns are frozen solid as are the water butts on the greenhouses.

I've been shunting freight up Tees valley in a Gronk & just realised I don't need to get down from the cab to manually change the points as you can set the points without leaving your seat Well we learn something new every day. I'd just been watching an old 50's Sci-Fi film again 'This Island Earth' until my missus sat on the PC keyboard halfway through and messed the stream up I don't know what she did but I cant get it back now

Lots of chicken casserole leftover from yesterday so we're having that with doorstop size wedges of tiger loaf for tea
