Default Would you have bought a R75 if the Facelift had come first?

Discuss . . .

I'm sure I wouldn't have. I sometimes pass a facelift version and - too late - think "Mm was that a Rover 75?" I was expecting the recent excellent DVD to answer this question. "So Richard. Why did you think your baby needed a revamp to the front? And do you now regret it?"

To me the original front appearance is so appealing: the bonnet slightly protruding over the hooded lights, like my Basset Hound when she knows she's pinched my supper and is begging forgiveness.

The only change I've made is to substitute stainless mesh which I immodestly think has improved the classic design - but each to their own.

Mark 1 for me every time. Facelift ruined the looks.

It’s no so much the design of the Mk2 that disappoints me, it’s the fact they cheapened the brand when they did it, Rover always meant luxury to me.

I might have due to the circumstances of the purchase of my 75 however it would be likely she would've gone to the great scrapyard in the sky long ago had she been a facelift. Don't much like em.

I favour the Mk 1 but I think Mk 2 with premier bumper is a bit more classy than the standard.

I prefer the larger applique on the bootlid of the facelift, although the one i currently have fitted is ronnied.

The front end of the facelifts can be let down by milky headlamp lenses.

Pre facelift for me.

Can't really explain it, just prefer it.

I had a facelift (Rover 75 !) and then bought a lower mileage Mk 1. Much better in my opinion. It looks like a Rover should! Smooth curves, chrome and walnut!
