Today, only drove to work
Belated update from Sunday, though: - Removed tow bar. Thank God! No more tennis ball-topped proboscis on the rear. ZT back to its original handsome self. - Zip tied AC pipe safely out of contact with radiator pipe (?) before it wears through. No more chafing! - Investigated constantly turning boot lock issue. Key in the lock just keeps on turning and turning without unlocking the boot. Nothing unlatched from the mechanism behind the interior carpet. New lock probably required. - Investigated unplugging MAF to see if it's dead or alive. Turns out that the longest Allen key in the world is required to undo those two bolts on the back of the fuel rail(?) cover. Come back another day... The current fleet, new CDTI moored up behind the 56k V6 (for sale on Gumtree! Don't seem to have permission to list it here!) with the MR2 3.0 V6 in the garage. |

Go bored waiting for some parts to arrive so decided to try something new with the fog lights surround. Since I had a spare pair I can always use the original if I don't like the way they look on the bumper

Popped of the OSF hub nut ready for a new CV tomorrow.
Took off the nose and stripped out the intercooler for new rings. Removed all intercooler pipework and cleaned. removed air intakes, egr system and pipes and degreased them inside and out. Removed wheel arch inners and de grimed / dust / mud build up all round. Removed fan unit and serviced / cleaned out. removed IPK, stripped, added Facelift decals, painted dial surrounds aluminium and chromed needles. Tomorrow: Strip slam panel and repaint / refit to close shutlines fit new facelift bumper fresh from sprayers. Fit new skirts to bumper with Stainless fixings all round. Strip front struts and fit new top mounts, bearings, spring assists and bump stops as well as tyre protectors. Monday: Put it all back together and take copious photos.... Being an engineer who now flies a desk and travels for a living it like a holiday to get stuck in for a long weekend of rusted bolts and foul language...

Removed water pump as it's gone. Really not looking forward for fitting new one tomorrow.
I was going to get wooden steering wheel tomorrow as my birthday gift but pump decided to die and funds gone this way plus a pig job to do. Not a happy bunny.

Removed slam panel sticker and replaced it with a new one from Rimmerbros. Much better.
