It's one of the inaccurate details that have been found found in the the Haynes manual. The brake pad warning light has nothing to do with the ECM

Default Brake disc's

While you chap's are on about brake pad's is it a hard job to change the disc i see that there is a star Key holding the disc on what size is that can it be puchased from Halfords or simlar cheers chaps.

yeah you can buy them from halfords no problem, i think its a T25 or T30 but I may be wrong (been a while since I done a set)
