Default Kenwood multi changer

Hi

Currently in my MG i have some rubbish JVC head unit that has been fitted at some point and as such the steering wheel controls don't work and neither does the multi changer in the boot. The changer is a KDC-C469.
Do current Kenwood head units work with this changer still and work with the steering wheel controls or am i better off looking for an older Kenwood head unit.
If i had the cash i would invest in something a bit more special like i have seen in the forum but its not something i can stretch to at the moment.
I would prefer a more modern unit as i can link up my IPod etc but at least using the changer would be better than i have at the moment.

thanks
Steve
