Street View has been runnig in France (some areas available only) for more than a year now. According to Google France was the second country to be street viewed after the USA .
On the other hand, Google maps has also been implemented with trafic information and transit (subway/buses) for some areas of the world (buttons are visible or not in the upper hand corner of the map, according to the availability of the concerned service :lol

Check the underlined links at the begining of this article (sorry but it's in French) for Porsche prototypes being covered while the camera was scanning the streets), or some geeks in samourai outfits and for a wowan releiving herself between cars (very embarassing...)
http://www.20minutes.fr/article/3026...our-Google.php Apparently many people tried to sue Google for intrusion in their private lives (see above ) but to no avail By the way, the service is also available for select locations on mobile phones

The other day I was out fitting some rear tweaters in the car and a Google StreetView car drove down my street.
I posed next to the nice and shiny car so hopefully I and the car will be on Google Streetview soon. How sad.
