Timer v GSM
If there is a phone signal I can imagine a GSM has the edge. I have a feeling a GSM is better suited to infrequent use and varying start time

Yep, the timer only works well for those who use the car at regular times.

As you say, phone signal is the deciding factor for the gsm remote.

I could do with one or the other now I have another job (I’ve tried to retire 4 times now - but they just won’t let me!!!) - this one involves early starts of the moment and whilst we soft southerners are only suffering -1deg C - I am a delicate little thing and could really appreciate a nice warm start to my journey into work.

I will have to explore the options.

But at the moment more annoying is the interior lights not working nor the headlight adjuster

But having a warm car after just a mile or two!! - absolute bliss. Anyone with a diesel without a FBH - you really should get one!
