Lower mount labour charge?
How much is a fair price to change Blue's lower mount? I have the part so labour only? When I had the black V6 done it took 40 mins and cost £40. I have lost the chap's number and have just been quoted 2 hours £70 which seems a lot and 2 hours??!!!! Err I dont think thats right!

The biggest job is jacking the car up to gain access! Ten minute job once car is in air.
2 hours does seem excessive, especially if they’re doing it on a lift I’m sure an hours labour is more than long enough to complete the job.

I got quoted an hours labour and £70 plus vat for changing the reverse switch on a gearbox.
Needless to say I got it done elsewhere. I think they make it up as they go along. Stubs |

Thats very expensive Dawn, a good garage will have it done in less than an hour and that includes removing and refitting the undertray!

FYI the official book time is just under 30mins (0.45Hr) which includes undertray removal/fitting.

I use Plough Garage at Heanor, next to the Trent Barton bus garage. Both reasonable with prices and very helpful. Might be of help to you? Regards, Dave. Last edited by daveb57; 31st December 2018 at 10:15.. |
