Default Airbag warning light

Dear All

My ZT190 has an airbag warning light on (been looked at by various people over the years with limited luck)
I understand my car will fail next MOT in this state.
Can anyone help me get this finally sorted?

Thanks

Andrew

Yes it'll be a MOT failure. First port of call is the connectors under both front seats, airbag and seat belt pretensioner. 2nd is impact sensors under the carpet. 3rd, clock spring connector in the steering wheel. 4th, airbag ECU. Best thing to do is get it to someone with a T4, eliminates the guesswork. BigRuss is in Liversedge, only 20-30 minutes from you.

The most common culprit is the under-sear connectors for the side airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners. For me MOT time meant lots of furtive unplugging, cleaning and reconnecting these plugs, usually with limited and temporary success. Some people cut them off and solder the wires together permanently, however this means you cannot remove the front seats easily. The other option (which I myself have done) is to replace the original rubbish connectors. There are plenty of different types available on ebay etc., I simply used bullet type crimp connectors and have had no further issue since.
