Default ZT 190 Clutch Whining Noise.

So, travelled from Norfolk to Cornwall and done a few hundred miles since we've been here!

Unfortunately, I noticed today that when I push in the clutch, I get a whining noise. Not loud but noticeable. As soon as I release the clutch, it stops.

What is this? Clutch still operates as normal. I'm guessing it's gonna need replacing. How long can it survive as is?

Sounds like release bearing/slave to me.

As to how long it will last, no one can tell unfortunately.

It will need replacing in the near future that's for sure.

Any idea how much a clutch replacement costs on a 190?

Contact Andy Willi. If you get him down to Norwich, I may get mine done at the same time to save his travel costs twice?

Thread moved to a more appropriate forum. Re-direct left in old. This may be the better forum as things get 'buried' very quickly in the General Forum.

Get it done asap. My old ZT 190 had the same noise but only lasted 20 miles and ended up at the brow of a steep hill with 20 cars behind me when the clutch pedal went and I had to start the car in gear to get it out of the way.
Andy Wii did mine think it cast about £450 a few years ago. (By the way thats one of my my old ZTs.

I can absolutely guarantee you, it's your release bearing, and it will fail, totally.
When is another matter though, it depends how sensitive your hearing is/how far gone it was when you noticed it, what kind of driving you do, what kind of driver you are. You see my point?
Another question you might ask is "when was my clutch replaced - if at all, and do i need to consider this at the same time?"

My 190's just done over 100k and from the history don't think it's ever had a clutch replacement.

I made it back from Cornwall etc from when I first heard it. So 500 miles or so!

Cheers for the link to Andy guys.
