Static build up ?????

Never any line issues here, any problems usually trace to ISP or exchange when there has been an issue, except when my router very occasionally crashes - I leave my router on and connected 24/7, but...

Overhead lines suffer rain ingress and interference from local transmitters. Sometimes poor joints show up when its windy, blowing overhead cables about. Underground are better protected from local interference an transmitters, but underground joints can suffer flooding.

Your ISP can remotely check and log your connection speeds, throughput and error rates.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Our problem was water ingress in underground cables. The cables go down the hill to the bottom of the close then back up the hill on our side. There is a stream at the bottom and every winter the water table would be higher than where the cables were buried.

It was relatively easy to fix and Openreach did fix it but only after they were forced to by my new service provider.

I am still angry that BT lied and did nothing to fix this fault. I had no control over it - I was in their hands and I relied on their honesty and integrity. My faith in BT was entirely misplaced and would certainly NOT recommend them based upon my experience.
