Time between build and registration
I've been doing a little research into my recently purchased 75 2.0 V6 Club SE, and it would appear that it was built at some point around April 2001, but wasn't registered until the end of September 2002, and didn't have a PDI carried out until the beginning of Novemeber. Is this quite common?
Can anyone give me an exact build date for my car? Thanks in advance! Fraser |

When MG Rover went under i understand there were a lot of cars being held in a field by the people who transported them from the factory and kept them there until they were paid so i suppose there are a lot of cars about that are a couple of years older than their reg suggests |

I would be wary of buying a face lift model as they would of been in the majority amongst those being stored in fields and their were some horror stories .....Brand new cars up to the doors in water etc and i suppose the newer the car the more chance of that being the case |

Mine was built on 5th June 2001 and not registered until 24th February 2003.
You can get a date very near to the build date (by a day or so) by looking at the label under the rear seat. Xpart also have a database with the exact date that the car went down the line and was built. |
