first motorway trip

Hi guys, well i must say im very, very impressed. Me and the other half went to visit relatives in birmingham today and we took the 75 on our first motorway trip. We did 374 miles on half a tank, cruised effortlessly without any issues at all. the journey there was pretty much un-eventful but the journey back was a different story, m40 was slow because of an accident on the other side of the road, and then further down some idiot in a db9 decided it would be funny to tailgate some poor bird in in a ford KA, naturally i got annoyed and decided to have a word whilst doing 70-80 down the motorway. I shouted to him that he shouldnt tailgate people ( he was really bullying the ka driver). He then proceeded to tailgate me before he put his foot down and must of hit 130-150 easily. No offence but the geezer looked like he belonged in a old folks home, driving a db9? must be compensating for something lol. anyway, well impressed with the 75, fuel consumption was the biggest thing for me and the air-con was a god send. cruised really well and im glad i spent the money on this awesome car. i always look at my 75 when im leaving it behind, but yes tonight when i got out and walked to the house i did turn around and give it a smile. it blows me away just how good the car is.

Well i was knackered actually but only mentally, it really takes it out of you when you concentrate on traffic and stupid noobs up ahead chopping and changing lanes cos ones going quicker than the other, and then you have the hard braker, the one who pelts it when he has a gap ahead and then has to slam his brakes on which causes more havoc. The m25 is officially a pig of a motorway.

I use it quite a lot, admittedly rarely in rush hour, but I'd hate to be without the M25.

What's worse, to my mind, is the M1 between say J5 and J10, north and south, depending on time of day, and M1 northbound right up to J26 - where I leave it - on a Friday evening.

So I can't really vote on the other thread, all I know is if I'm doing a journey, I usually get on a M-way as soon as I can, and leave as close to my destination as I can.

I've driven up and down France, and have to say they are much better drivers than us, they drive faster but show better lane discipline, our motorways seem to be crowded by over-confident, less disciplined drivers, lanes are hogged, tail-gating common, and the lack of common curtisy nowadays is so evident.

On a more cheerful note, yes we all turn back for a final look at our cars as we walk away, just be careful out there as they say, it really is quite addictive, but only an R75/ZT driver will understand why.!

When I called my insurace to let them know that I had changed my motor to a 75 they told me that I would have to upgrade to the look back policy just in case I would sustain some sort of neck injury:lol:.
