Thanks - Would that be why the original Owner is listed as Rover but nobody owned it? The car has had 2 owners, me being the second. But when we got teh Log Books the Original owner was listed as Rover Group?

The Management and Assosciate car schemes where employees leased cars, were registered by Rover (at least while I was there).
Many of them were registered at Longbridge (although it moved around) and I expect that it was back at Longbridge by 2000. xOx reg's are mostly Bham, although there are a couple of exceptions. A Metro my Dad bought was registered at Longbridge before we bought it. I don't know wheter it needed to be registered because of a change in the law, or if it was to help sales figures. It was calle JOE (C104JOE). |

With that many registered together, and nearly all the same model, I'd be pretty sure they were all registered by Rover, maybe for lease cars, or demonstrators. Even a big dealer would be unlikely to register so many similar cars at the same time.

How have you found all this out Carl?
David, I had a Rover 214 SEi a few years sgo, it was a beautiful car and for a 1.4 went like stink. The reg of that was N122VOP. Does that sound like a factory reg'd car?
