Default Injector woes

I've just had my injectors replaced with 4 second hand from ebay. They have allegedly covered about 60000 miles.

Before they were changed, economy was down and over the last month, starting took longer than normal. It sounded as if 1 or 2 injectors were down for a few seconds before picking up and running reasonably well.

With the replacements fitted, the car won't start at all. Diagnostics show pressures to be good on rail. It doesn't seem to even try to start. Any ideas?

Thanks

Ok
Let's start with the replaced injectors, have you used a flow testing kit? To test for leakback?
If so is the cam sensor a good known sensor? Removing it and putting in the freezer for a few minutes then back on the car sometimes works.
Next check the electrical loom to the injectors, a quick wiggle of the loom sometimes works, I have supplied a number of these looms in the past, due to tiny breaks.
What diagnostics have you used to test rail pressure?

I don't like this option but you could give a couple of shots of easy start up the intake while cranking (2people helps) just to see if it starts, that would eliminate electrical issue. Because if it starts it's likely to be fuel related.

Let me know how you get on.

When I sell injectors I always have them running and flow test them, like the set I have now.
Kind regards mick

Thanks for your reply. Mobile mechanic fitted them and he used a snapon diagnostic setup. No faults showed. I've tried the wiggle test on all connectors and when the battery is recharge I will try easystart. Mechanic suggested that one injector may be stuck open, reducing flow to the others? Are they likely to need programming to my car, his gear didn't give an option for that on the 75. The only problem before was the lumpy starting, so I'm doubtful about a faulty cam sensor. Can you pm me with details of the set you've got?

My old set showed that 2 were definitely faulty. Trouble now is I live in the middle of nowhere, a bus out and back in to the village on Wednesdays, and no transport! Not a good day. I will have to wait until Saturday to hitch a lift to buy tubing for leakback test

Thanks

Steve

Sorted!!!

Just went out, connected the fully charged battery, a quick burst of easystart and it clattered into life. Sounded like a tin of nails in a concrete mixture, clouds of smoke polluting the fresh country air then seemed to settle down and run quite smoothly. Fingers crossed it starts in the morning.

Thanks Mickyboy for taking the time to help, Your name is saved for the future.

Best regards, steve

Glad I've been able to help.

That's the easy start "pinking" - it's a bit easier to ignite than diesel

Yeah for sure, that's why I'm not a fan, but sometimes for a test to eliminate fuel/electrical its single use option.

Went out 1st thing this morning, everything covered in ice. Turned the key and it started immediately. I hadn't realised how bad it had got. I still don't know why it wouldn't start initially, 1st time I've ever had that trouble. Most times it has been on older buses and coaches where they had to be primed and bled and they always started!

Thanks to all, next task, yet again, is droplinks which never seem to last more than 18 months.
