Dumb question (no doubt!)
I'm good at asking dumb questions, so here's one -
Next year I'm thinking of getting my Apex wheels refurbed (hopefully in shadow chrome finish) and have decided that it'd be a shame to leave the calipers looking so grotty behind 'new' wheels. I remember a few years ago painting the calipers on my ZS, but the finish didn't last too long, and I don't really want to have to take the wheels off every year to strip and re-paint. I know with more expensive car manufacturers you can buy calipers which are coloured and branded. Can you buy factory painted calipers which would fit a ZT190? Thanks Andrew

I only need to worry that my calipers are working, hidden behind Crowns Ken. |

I rub mine down, spray with zinc galvanising paint and spray over with Honda Holden silver which is very silvery. Two coates and your done. Oh dont gorget to paint the brake back plates satin black.

I painted my calipers with Hammerite, it seems to last about a year and then it dis-colours.
The finish is ok, no rust and just a new coat of Hammerite and they return to like new finish. To my mind its not worth paying the high price for the specialised caliper paint. Dave T |

Mine were professionally sprayed a year ago and are still looking ok. And I do lots of mileage.

There are companies out there who will refurb and powder coat you calipers.

Have a read here.http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=226409 . Fusilier has his painted professionally, so he may be the person to ask about how good they are when done properly, and who did them for him.
My calipers were just wire brushed down then painted with yellow hammerite, which seems good enough .. |
