Sold it as spares or repair. Only got scrap value for it (200 quid) but that's a lot more that WBAC would have given me. I didn't swap the battery over, as it was older than the one in the Beemer.

I will be doing the swirl flap delete as soon as I can though.

I did a thing!

Replaced the wipers on Chieftain (new name for it), and finally figured out how to set the clock.

If it has a DPF you can't remove the swirl flaps or it won't do a regen. DPF was an option on M47 engines. If it has a downturned exhaust pipe it has no dpf. Also, dont get a cheap swirl flap kit, otherwise you'll have leaks from the seals. Leave the orignal bmw manifold seals in place. Easier option it to get a 318D manifold that had no flaps from factory. Also note, if you ever do change the battery or anything it needs to be a good branded AGM and needs registering to the car. Those are a lot more complex than the 75.

Thanks Jamie. Luckily it has a downturned pipe, so no DPF (It's a December 04 car). Battery seems fine, and in fact dosen't look that old. Regards the 318D manifold, will that bolt straight up or will it need modifying?

Sit rep - I've done a few miles in it now, and I've made a list on what needs to be fixed on my new purchase:

Passenger side window motor works but window itself won't go down. Not a huge issue for me because it's fully closed.

Speed sensor needs replacing (already on order)

Drivers side mirror won't fold, but passenger side does.

CD changer doesn't seem to work, but radio does.

1 blown bulb.

Sounds like a lot, but the car costs me 1700 quid, and I still have 6 months ticket left on it so I don't have much to worry about right now

The BIG plus points:

It's externally sound, with no dents or rust.

Engine sounds good, with no nasty knocks

Gearbox is silky smooth

And most importantly.....

IT'S NOT IN FRICKING LIMP MODE!

We had a 30cm dump of snow last night, and seeing as we live half way up a steep hill the ZT-T will be staying in it's cozy garage, in spite of the fact that my son in law was good enough to shovel the driveway.

I didn't fix the power fold drivers mirror on the BMW. It appears to have done that all by itself.

Seeing that i sold my Tourer i couldn't do anything on it even if i wanted too, but what i did do was change the power steering fluid on the ORK my FL2 SD4 including a new reservoir which holds an internal filter which cannot be changed, while do so i found out the so called LR dealership whom has serviced the car all it's life had put in the wrong fluid light brown hydraulic fluid instead of the green it is supposed to have now it's been corrected.
