Default Dogs - false pregnancy

At least what I think it must be. She is six or seven, spayed at 6 months, border collie. Tuesday early hours she began pestering me to get up to let her out (1), straight out, straight back in, then again. Jumping up on bed, where she is not allowed to pester me to get up. I gave up, got up and laid on the settee for a couple of hours, rather than keep getting up. When I woke up next morning, she was asleep on my bed. She is not constipated.

Last night more of the same, except not quite so persistent, but began riving at the carpet in a corner of the bedroom, trying to squeeze in between the wall and a bedside cabinet a 3" gap.

(1) If she, or her big brother (arthritic, who cannot get up the stairs to tell me), need to go out during the night, she does the waking me up by sticking her cold nose under the quilt. She normally sleeps on the landing.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Thumbs up

My brother's westie was diagnosed with this prior to having her neutered. They had delayed the op. while they contemplated letting her have one litter but the phantom pregnancy pretty much tipped the balance on the vets advice.

Our BC does this, yes it’s a phantom pregnancy, ours gets protective over her toys, so much so she bit me once as she thought I wanted her stuffed ladybird!

Our first dog Suzi - a lab/collieX - had this.

We gave her lots of toys and distracted her and it went.

She even swelled up and lactated a bit.

Thanks All, I have only come across it once before and decades ago..

Yorkie Terrier, we had a garden pond with fish swimming about in in. She adopted those fish, would not allow anyone near them and was quite protective of them. She would make her bed into a nest.

This one is doing a bit of bed rearranging.

Well, that didn't last long - two days and nights of it and she is back to normal I'm glad to say.
