Different Strokes

A week later and I've got a rear puncture. Until then I had budget priced Infinity 05 tyres, that were put on the car by the dealer I bought it from 20,000 miles ago. They had very little grip, but to me that was never a problem as they were predictable and the car never tried to swap ends quickly. As they still had an amazing 7mm of tread after 20,000 miles, I thought they were almost ideal to put on the back. Since having them taken off, the ride is considerably smoother and quieter though. Basically what I'm saying is that, although you can't argue with stopping distance tests (I'd NEVER fit Infinitys to the front), nearly everything else is down to personal preference and understanding what your tyres will and won't do. (Oh, how I hate unseen diesel spills!) Other people's experiences are a useful guide and interesting to read, but might not be shared by you under similar circumstances.
