Cool Banana is off on another...............

................mini tour of the U.K tomorrow. Leaving in the morning and travelling up to Newburn, Newcastle on Tyne to a new hotel, well new to Banana. Got recommended to try this place by RPWC. Pub, hotel and brewery on site. "The Keelman" in Newburn.

Now the plan is to travel to Dun's, Jim Clark museum, on Friday. Then onto Traquair House for a trip down memory lane. Not been here since 1994 so I expect it may have changed a bit. And they have a brewery as well.
Then back to hotel and pub in the evening.

Saturday off to the coast if the weather is ok. Pub in the evening.

Sunday round to RPWC's gaff and get Banana washed. And hopefully Rich will get Banana's reverse switch fitted. Then we are off to the Gretna Green meet. Be seeing new and old friends, and Flyer.
Then back to the pub.

Monday off sightseeing somewhere. Back to the pub in the evening.

Tuesday returning back down South to somewhere called 'home'.

If anyone wants to meet up somewhere for a coffee & chat, then feel free to let me know. Or come round to the pub and join me for a meal and a beer or coffee, then you'll be more than welcome.

I'll keep the daily diary going.

Mileage is 169,500.

Cool Never again will I.................

..............Use the sat nav on the Navall 3. Wish now I had kept my old system. Had to the re-set the system yet again. The sat nav played p before I left home but once on the road it settled down.

Left home to travel up North via the petrol station to fill up with 'nana juice. Heard on the radio that the A14 was shut so I peeled, pardon the pun, off of the M11 and onto the A603 and cut across country and onto the A1 at Biggleswade.
Soon travelling at 60-65mph. Stopped at Grantham for a wee and a sandwich.
Sat nav behaving ok.

Everything ok till I got to Leeming Bar, then the sat nav announced that there was a major hold up and I needed to take the turn off at junction 49 and onto the the A66(M). Duke Street in Darlington looks nice for this is where the sat nav dumped me. Blank screen and no radio. Pressed the re-set button. No radio but the sat nav kicked back in. And telling me I was at my destination. But I was 40 miles short.

Dig old faithful out, iPad, put the info in to the maps and away we went. Still no radio. Found my way back onto the A1 and onto my destination. Map on iPad was spot on. Mean while the radio started working along with the sat nav, except that was trying to take me home.
Home to hotel via Google maps 274 miles
I ended up doing 300.

Met RPWC at the hotel n pub. Had a swift half, well Richard did. We then got some pictures done with Zed the Ted along with Strawberry, Bertie and Sid sitting on Banana's bonnet. Richard had to shoot off and retired back to the pub for another beer and some food.

Richard gave me some idea's of places to visit. Going to phone Graham later and arrange a meet tomorrow. More beer! We'll be silly not to wouldn't it.
