Not quite sure what you mean here, but if you are making a Word Doc and inserting the code on that Doc, then I have never done that, so I cannot help you there.
But I will say I Edit the photo size before I upload them to Imgur.

Maybe you need to used a different Copy Code to do what you do.

But as for what most of us need vis-à-vis posting photo's, it couldn't be simpler...???

Here is a screenshot of what the Codes look like and the one I use to post here: (This comes up after I have Clicked 'Get Share Codes' on the photo I want to post).

The reason it's so pathetically slow is they've saturated it with scripts. These are organised to load before anything you want to do will run. So, anything less that the Deep Thought supercomputer finds it hard work. The answer that works for me is to use a browser plugin to stop scripts from loading. Slightly tedious to set up but Photobucket's a lots less hassle once it's done.

I've used www.imgserv.com when needing to post images of forums etc.
