Nothing has changed over the year despite full services, inc air filter and the aforementioned head gasket.
Is this induction noise (similar to exhaust noise but that is eliminated) on acceleration normal, am I over reactiing or is there a fix for it. It may be worth mentioning that previous cars where Jaguars (one with the AJ6 engine the latter with a V8) which are by nature quite quiet.
Any help appreciated.
Thank you

Mine is the same Richard.
The Shannon was recently replaced and it's still the same, it's not a really loud noise but just every now and then noticeable on normal acceleration through the gears!
I see or feel no performance issues and she runs like a dream so I just assumed, being a relatively new 75 owner of only 3 years, it was simply part and parcel of the car so I've no worries with it!

Probably not this but just a thought.
Are both the mounting pegs still attached to the bottom of the airbox?
Somtimes they snap off when the air box is removed and it leaves a small hole.
I snapped one of mine off accidentaly a while back and it did make a kind of whistling/hissing noise untill i replaced the airbox.
