Question Rover 75 main car insurance

Hiya,

I recently got a Rover 75 Club 2001 and I was shopping around for a classic car insurance. It seems like different companies have different policies. So far I've heard Rover 75 isn't a classic car (until 2021). Others have told me I need to have it as a 2nd car. Yet more have said I need to have at least 3 yrs of residency (I just moved to the UK).

Is there any company that provides classic car insurance without me forking over 600 pounds?

I’ve not found any company that grants classic status to a 75 that’s not 20 years old yet.

It seems there are no hard and fast rules and a great deal depends on the make. I managed to get classic insurance for my Saab 93 when it was 10 years old.

Classic car policies generally have very low mileage limits (which do get checked) so unless you rarely use your car they are not suitable. They also often can't be used for business or commuting.

My car is insured via Adrian Flux brokers - when i first used them in 2018 they offered classic car cover - involved beside a mileage limit but also providing loads of photos of the vehicle.
