can you help?
Can you help? this is from someone at work
If you have twitter or facebook accounts can you post this? Penlee Lifeboat Gold Medal Stolen Coxswain William Trevelyan Richards and an RNLI gold medal Page Content Dear all, I need your help. About 2 months ago it came to light that the Gold medal posthumously awarded to 'Trevelyan Richards' the Coxswain of the Penlee Lifeboat after the disaster in 1981 where all of the crew were lost to the sea has been stolen. The medal was in the secure archives at RNLI HQ Poole, protected by several layers of security, yet it still got taken. My father was one of the crew lost when I was only 10 years old, thankfully I have my father's medal safe. I am now the heritage officer at Penlee lifeboat station and this medal is a huge loss to the community in Cornwall. It is the only recorded award of an RNLI gold medal Posthumously out of the 150 gold awards made during the 200 year history of the RNLI. The medal holds great significance to the events of the time and symbolises what our crews risk their own lives for every time their pagers go off. THE ASK: All of those who have facebook and twitter please go to the Penlee lifeboat pages and share this story like crazy to appeal to the public for information and maybe the person responsible to come to their senses and return it to us. Links attached. Many thanks to you all for helping us during this sad time. macafee2 |

Done and, may I say, I hope it gets traced and recovered what a horrible thing for someone to do!
