That's as maybe, but if I learned anything from Drag Racing my old 5 Litre Mustang, is that a big V8 can never have too much air going to it and I wouldn't restrict myself to a 3" outlet on that size of engine, but would want something around 95 mm, or around 3.75" on the way to the throttle body.

Hope you get the results you are looking for.

Is there enough room to install something like this?

Or this?

Default 260 Induction and Filter

This is the filter I used on both the ZT and ZTT V8. Its the Ford Motorsport filter for the Mustang V8 2V. There must be a K&N the same size I would think.

If the picture didn't work I will put in my gallery.

All the best, JB

BHP and airflow are not necessarily connected
The V8, even in standard form, sucks in a lot of air.

Far more than a 2 ltr EVO with more power.

Besides, those mods will see you at most a 10% increase on a N/A car

The ZT260 is supposed to have 256 BHP.

Mine has 275-ish with K&N, opened up filter housing, Accufab and X-powers.

Best bang for bucks still is the S/C conversion.

Messing with the ECU will end in tears, there is not much to be gained.
When acquired for the ZT, the V8 had a Roush tune.

Best left alone.........

Running too rich at high RPMs is better than leaning out

Most of the engines that went bang where due to a lean map at high rpm.
Just not sustainable for a longer period of time.

...od of time.
Of course air flow and power is connected.

Think!

How much air does a 2 liter engine sucks in at 6000 rpm?

Now think and try to deduct how much a V8 would suck in at 6000 rpm?

May not be linear but it stands to reason that it would be at least twice as much

Then this 2 liter engine produces 340BHP where the V8 does 260

Compression ratio of the 2 liter maybe 10:1 where the V8 maybe 9.5:1

So still the V8 sucks more air, produces less power.

Filters can't be rated for power, they should be rated for flow.

Air intake volume and power are not related. Air intake volume and engine size are

So a filter rated for 340 BHP may not fit a 260BHP V8
