Default I think may ford may need a full engine restoration :(

Things are really testing me this week and this time its the ford.
Power steering pipes blow last week and same again today.

couldn't risk driving it back home so I went too my mates Garage who was only 1 mile away and drove it there as I couldn't repair the leak where I was.

The high pressure hoses that's right two iof them have now blown and I don't have any spares left too try out.

The spare set blow as well I've got two options one Get a hold of pipes from other car modify it and make it fit or two spend US185 and export rate what ever it is and buy them brand new from the states.

Also noticed the engine is getting louder and she's becoming gutless despite changing the oil but will be checking everything too be sure.

Its not looking good and national might not even happen unless my old man lets drive the 300C too the meet.

I think the mileage have done has pushed it too far, then again its too be expected she's not getting any younger and the mileage is high.

Well the original pipes have been since the car left Detroit Michigan 23 years ago so was about too happen, the spare set I had was in better nick taken off my spare V6 engine.

Again after hard driving and full lock test it blow as well.

on my clocks its shows 140,000 miles but I know the clocks were changed as one of the dials stopped working altogether and that the original mileage was shown 201,000 miles.

Thats a lot of miles but im sure shes served you well . I have read that Terraclean breaths life back into an old engine it may be worth considering as an easy fix .

I had the same problem with power steering hoses on my missus's 72 Mach l Mustang, I got some made up by Pirtek http://www.pirtek.co.uk/products/automotive
They have a place in Trafford park Manchester, I took my old ones in & they made a pair there & then and I never had a problem again.

They were even cheaper & better quality than getting OEM ones from the states.

Pic of when I was re-building it in the early 90's.

That could be worth a go the tappets are getting louder now there hydraulic as well so I can't do a valve clearances too reduce, the gutless performance is a bit of a worry.

I'm pretty confident I know what it Is from personal experience with these cars at the same time I'm also thinking of a possibly a valve train issue which does happen and it can lead too a engine build due too vales not preforming as they should.

No blue smoke yet, But I will be keeping an eye on this.

I thought that as well I asked the lads on the MX6 forums just too be sure and guess what?

Considering there the same engine there's a few things that are different and steering pump is one of them.

Its like the Mondeo Mk3 engine and the Jaguar x-type diesels you'd think there the same in everyway but certain parts have slight changes.

Damn.
