Unless you are confident in diagnosing electrical faults in cars, take the car to an auto electrician who should be able to diagnose the primary cause of your issues in 30 minutes.
It's not worth getting into the guessing game as that often leads to unnecessary expenditure. |

Fnipp, fnwurr, fnarple, check to see if the background illumination is lit on the light switch when the car is locked up.
A defective LSM will stop the BCU going into sleep mode, meaning the battery will discharge over the course of a day or two. From memory this car had a gammy earth connection when you got it I might be able to have a run down and take a look at it for you, but your readings you gave me of the battery across the terminals look to be ok. Is that the round switch that turns on the car lights? No interior lights above head for map reading etc. are on when the car is locked. Cheers Lee The car had not moved in 8 days and the voltage reading was still 12.4v (not started) and 14.4v when engine started. |

Have you checked to see if the connections on the battery are tight? If they are not, you will be getting faults all round when trying to start the car..
