Default National Minimum Wage question?

Hiya all just want too ask a question regarding this.

https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates

Does this still apply for someone that's working for a company as self employed, not a business owner but has a contract with the company as a sub contractor.

Does he or she still have too pay the national wage regardless even if the people taking on by the self employed contractor are self employed them self's?

Doubt it. I would guess by definition that being self employed means you determine your own wage? However I ain't an expert. Someone will pop up...

If you work for a company as a self employed contractor, then you dictate your hourly or daily rate. Anyone working for you as a sub contactor, would charge you the same way. So eg you charge 15 quid per hour, the subbie charges 12 per hour, you would need to charge your client minimum 27 per hour to cover both wages. As a self employed contractor you are responsible for submitting your tax returns and national insurance contributions too.
