Default Google "redirect" ??

I am having a "redirect" problem using google search.

I enter a request, click on a result, then the word "redirect" is displayed very briefly in the "searching" window and the wrong site comes up..

It is not the same site every time..

I have run Spybot, AVG, Win own anti virus, and Nod32, non found the problem.

Due to the "redirect" issue I am having a problem searching the net for a cure, can anyone help please.. Thank you.

Have you tried a re-boot, then running anti-virus, etc?

Sounds as though you have a nasty little bug in the system...

Hi Andrew.

I have tried everything I can think of, including running my anti virus in "safe mode" but the bug is well hidden.

Running WinXP pro SP3 with IE7.

Sorry, the info in my previous post has served me well to date. I use Avast! software and never had a problem with it. Seems to find and destroy all the bugs.

You could always re-format the hard drive and start again!!

Hi Andrew, I also ran Avast! along with all my other anti virus stuff but it failed to find a problem.

Fortunately, worst case scenario, I have a "ghost" of my C drive made a couple of months ago, so if all else fails I will run that.

Try installing (if possible) another internet browser like Chrome from Google or Firefox and see if you still have the same problem.
Some websites you may reach inadvertently (like by typing a wrong URL address...) may contain harmfull codes that alter the IE browser capacities (like redirecting to other websites, changing home pages, etc...)
Try also in the IE settings to see if the "Search" function has been somewhat altered to redirect to another website...

Sounds like your browser has been Hijacked.

You could download this and run it, see if it finds anything.
