Great Job:lol: I have tested my Garmin the last 3 days through half of Germany.
I couldn't find any problem - worked fine including TMC messages. Ok, TomTom is still the leader in my eyes - but Garmin works good and that's all I want. Can you show where you have installed the Reverse Cam ?

Yes! please show, I wouldn't mine a peek. do you have a night vision camera?
I thought on a 75 you could either put a camera just above the number plate between the two number plate lights (fixed under the chrome bulky bit on edge of boot) tucked away........ or .......... low down in middle of bumper under the bottom rear trim. There are soooooo many designs of camera on ebay (from China and Hong Kong) some are just a circle barrel that can be fixed into a body panel just like a key barrel (but thans means drilling a big hole). eeeeek! I prefer the small mounnted stand version. |

I haven't got a pic of my camera but its fitted like Christopher's in this thread. However I just screwed my camera on from underneath and didn't cut out the piece like Christopher so its probably a few mm lower. The camera itself was a cheapo from eBay - about £12 IIRC. It has a night time facility also. While it would probably be unsuitable for an outside broadcast by the BBC, its fine for this job. Slightly off topic but when I was fitting it I thought it was duff. I had previously tested it on the bench with the DNX and it worked fine. After I fitted it to the boot and wired it in, I hopped into the car for a test. I switched on the ignition and engaged reverse and......nothing. Well, not quite nothing - there was a whiteish pic on the screen with a funny looking hole in the middle. I'm embarrassed to say that it took me a few seconds to realise that the boot was still open and the camera was pointed towards the sky and clouds Dallas - I considered fitting the circular camera to the bumper but chose this type instead as it was probably quicker to fit and IMO would give a more usable picture.

Perfect! that's where I was thinking of, great idea how Christopher has fitted his by cutting out and fitting the camera base up inside the large chrome lip handle.
Great idea for security, as no little T-leaf can just come along and un-screw it and walk away with it. |

I suppose you are correct about the thieving of the camera when its just screwed on - something I hadn't considered. I may revisit this at some stage.

My reversing camera is simply screwed in place under the boot handle and nobody has attempted to steal it.

I suppose it would take a cheeky thief to nick a camera but I have seen CCTV footage of same.
