Unique Attraction
I am relatively new to the forum. I have had a fair few Rovers in the time I have been driving (I am 30, been driving 12 years and I have had 74 cars ). Having seen what a following there is for the 75 and ZT alike, I was curious as to what turned you folks to them in the first place and what keeps you going back for more?
I have a 75 1.8 Club SE and love it. Feels a million dollars inside and I love the shape of it. Just feels like its in a league of its own the last great British land yacht? In addition to that, the following and support from the club makes maintaining and improving a 75/ZT a much less daunting task. Although saying that she hasn't really put a foot wrong so far. So what made you purchase your ZT/75 first and what keeps you going back? |

I bought my 75 - now sadly departed- around 2007.
Always loved the look of them and the opportunity came up for to buy it. The rest is history |

I was shown my current car (2000 V6 Club Auto) by the elderly owner and liked it so much that I went out and bought a 2005 Connoisseur (manual). After a damaged cruciate ligament made the manual difficult to drive and hearing that the elderly gent had passed away, I was approached by his relatives to see if I knew anyone that may be interested in the car. I bought it the same day and advertised the 2005 model! I have loved both cars and do not really like much else in the current market!

Like yourself, I started out with a 2001 1.8 Club SE, Royal Blue (JFM) in 2012, the reason being I wanted a big comfortable family car.
I sold it purely because I saw something else I liked the look of, and worked my way through a few more cars but deep down, I always missed that 75. Seven years later I admitted defeat and gave in, but this time I bought a ZT. I don't think this one will be going too far though, I've made that mistake once

I was given mine by my father who was going to crush it as he'd just bought a nearly new Focus. I only did it to save it, and now I'm spending a small fortune on it as I realised that I actually really like it. Never had anything Rover, MG, BL or anything all British before so now I feel I may have missed out on some good cars.

As this isn't the first post about this i'll just copy what i have said previously as its still relevant several years later
"I've strayed from the path a few times but i've always found you get great levels of equipment on a bit of a shoestring budget and dammit i just have a bit of an addiction with the marque... There i've said it ... i'm an addict. Sometimes i even manage to go cold turkey for a year or so but there is always one somewhere on the side of the road tempting me to fall off the wagon and normally i just don't have the willpower to say no!! I don't think i can put a finger on just one thing that i fell in love with the car but if pushed i would have to say that it's one of the prettiest saloon cars i can think of, or maybe how its such a nice place to be with the sumptious interior, or maybe the ride especially over long distances. Maybe, just maybe, its just that everytime i go outside and see it sitting in my drive it puts a smile on my face because its mine"
