Change of tyres?
For some unknown reason, all my tyres are 235 45 17 on the original star spoke wheels. These are not standard Rover recommended tyre sizes, but I have no complaints, nor have had anything else to compare them too...
I was thinking of getting my wheels refurbished, and that would be a good time to change the tyres as well, though tbh, there's plenty of tread left on all of them. Has anyone had star spoke wheels refurbed? Did you go for diamond cutting? Any photos? Silver and black paint? Change the tyres or not? They have performed well, all the way to the Costa del Sol and back Might be nice though, to have all the one brand, instead of 3 different ones!

Thanks for that.
I'm not convinced about your black sparkly rims, even though my Tourer is also Firefrost. I could fancy silver exterior, with black interior, especially if also diamond cut...but that might stretch my budget a step too far. I'm waiting on some quotes coming back, but it seems that diamond cutting adds about £100 to the price - too rich for me, I'm afraid. The whole car only cost £300! But as usual, has had lots spent on it since. Truly - are you that impressed by the sparkly black finish?

I'm loving the price! A local mobile fitter just quoted me £260 for the same job you had done for £120... I pointed him to your thread...
I hope I can find something similar near here in Scotland!

Wow! Even cheaper! Just shows what a rip-off £260 is. I doubt any of the refurbishers here can match that price, but we live in hope! I was thinking of fitting new tyres as well, maybe there's a deal to be done somewhere...

That is a definite bargain you have there. The best 4 wheel refurbishment deal I have here in Essex is £220. Wonder if it would be cost effective to mail them there (Paisley Freight)? All the best, Paul |
