It’s easier to get a replacement strip from a scrap car, once the fixing comes off it’s difficult to get it to bond successfully.

Only one scrap yard on the Isle of Wight, no 75’s, great place to live, but has some drawbacks!

Any cars out there that could donate a strip?

Looked at that, don’t have a mouse as I have two cats! I only use an iPad so I don’t think this how to helps.

Still can’t see why it needs to be so difficult!

I have an old iPad somewhere, I'll see if I can fathom it out. iPads are a complete mystery to me.

You need to know anyway to get the best out of the forum.

EDIT: I found the old iPad and logged in with that. When I started messing with an image, there was a popup message suggesting I check out the Tapatalk app for uploading images. Maybe read through that for more.
Alternatively, see Section 3 here, which tells you how to copy/paste images from one place to another eg the forum.

ive made my own clips using a stainless steel bolt same size as the factory one, got a small bit of nylon (used the head of one of those nylon wall plugs) pushed the thread through the hole, ground the nylon until it slid into the chrome strip
all sorted.
