Default Rover 75 Drivers side Drinks Holder

Hi, recently I purchased a Rover 75 Drivers side Drinks Holder but cannot get it to 'click' into place. I removed the 'Blank' from the Drivers side and inserted the new Drinks Holder but it just won't lock into place. Looking into the clip arrangement it looks as if the original 'Blank' on the Drivers side has a different clip to the Drivers side Drinks Holder which is the same clip as the Passenger side Drinks Holder but on opposite side. Any ideas please. Regards Ken

I had this one before on a customer's car, found the cause was a plug that was sitting behind the driver's side cup holder which was getting in the way just enough to prevent the cup holder from locking back in place. May be worth checking nothing is behind it preventing it from going all the way back.

Check the clip on the drivers side cup holder is intact, I have seen a few where they have been broken by folk who don't know how to unclip them correctly.

I had a similar fault on one I purchased as I got it cheap due to it not locking into position. The plastic clip was bent on the holder so I heated it with the wife's hairdryer whilst bending it back to it's original position with a small screwdriver. Once set, it clicked into place nicely

Just sell the damn thing, I had one and frankly you just cant use it unless you are so tall you sit in the back seat or when it opens it hits your knee or you hit it every time you change gear and get scolded, the most sort after useless upgrade ever IMO.

I think I would have to agree.
